Role Description
Janssen Asia Pacific, part of the J&J family of companies, is currently looking at expanding its Market Access team in the region by bringing on board a high caliber team members with experience & capabilities in Health Economics, Pricing, Reimbursement, and Market Access with responsibilities across the region for particular therapeutic areas. The group is a virtual team with members being based around the region meaning that the roles can be performed from any location in Asia Pacific providing there is easy access to international travel.


The objective of the Director is to provide technical capabilities combined with strategic insights in order to develop solutions for their respective internal clients. The role will have a strategic and tactical focus for both pre- and post-launched products.

Key activities include leading and managing health economics and outcomes research/ real-world evidence generation projects across different therapeutics to support patient access to Janssen products.

This is a visible and accountable position offering close interactions and partnerships with local and global colleagues such as Health Economics, Market Access, Governmental Affairs, Clinical, Strategic Marketing, Medical Affairs and Pricing teams. Therefore this role will require strong leadership skills and the ability to multitask and liaise with several regional, local and global functions.

Job Responsibilities
• Work in close cooperation with various internal partners, specifically Worldwide Market Access and health economics/outcomes research teams at an affiliate level.
• Accountable for strategic and operational oversight of quantitative and qualitative analytics approaches/plan including health economics, outcomes research, real-world studies to support the value proposition of Janssen products
• Develop/manage/execute the health economics and outcomes research strategy/projects, real-world evidence generation to support patient access for across therapeutic areas/products
• Provide tactical and technical support at affiliate level for health economic models, database studies, payer conferences etc. to optimize market access, pricing or reimbursement
• Ensure alignment of research projects/studies with product strategy, in close collaboration with market access lead and relevant team members
• Be coordinator for cross-TA projects on evidence generation in the region

Qualifications

Required
• Strong experience (minimum of eight to ten years) in Market Access gained at a pharmaceutical/biotechnology or HTA/Payer body. Specialist health economics and outcomes research consulting company will be considered.
• An in-depth understanding of payers and their perspective in the key markets.
• Strong technical expertise, research background including economic model, outcomes research, real-world data analysis. Mathematical modelling skills would be an advantage.
• Proven successes engaging with:
o Internal – including marketing, clinical and local clients.
o External - including payers, HTA bodies and KOLs (Ideally possesses an established network of payer contacts and KOLs).
• Demonstrated ability to:
o Drive change effectively within a matrix organization.
o Translate strategic insights into practical, well-grounded initiatives.
• Demonstrated leadership, networking, active listening and influencing skills.
• Must possess superior communication and interpersonal skills in order to effectively interact with cross-functional teams at all levels and responsibilities. Must be capable of leading cross-functional teams and also to work effectively as a member of different teams to ensure development of high-quality deliverables.
• Project management skills
o Ability to oversee project teams involving external customers, vendors, internal stakeholders such as Marketing, Clinical, and Pricing.
o Ability to manage projects according to timelines.

Desired
• Degree/Masters or Ph.D in Economics, Health Economics, Public Policy or other related field is preferred.
• Strong collaboration skills.
• Fluent English. Mastering multiple languages would be an advantage.
• Ability to influence without authority.

Location
• Any location in Asia Pacific providing there is easy access to international travel (Note: This role is a local based position. No financial support for relocation is available).
• Able to travel up to 50%.
