Job description
A fantastic new position within the Employee Relations team at Barclays. This team sits as part of the Human Resources department which is structured around Client Relationship Teams and Centres of Excellence. Both are staffed with professionals who have expertise in their particular area. As the lead for the Employee Relations Centre of Excellence, this role would include the management of 2 others across Asia Pacific with key responsibilities including:

• Management of employee related litigation, exits, disciplinaries and other more complex ER scenarios.
• Advice to the HR Business Partners (HRBP) on general ER queries.
• Projects
• Overall governance of ER approach within the department Policy development

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• To manage the Employee Relations (ER) function for the Asia region.
• ER case management – advising the HR Business Partners and liaising with internal and external counsel on ER cases across the region.
• Management of the disciplinary and grievance processes including coordinating the Asia disciplinary committee.
• Management and coordination of change programmes in coordination with the HR Business Partners.
• Reviewing, updating and advising on employment policies across the region including employee handbooks.
• Contract wording – advising the Resourcing and Onboarding teams on wording for contracts, leaver letters and other employment related letters (flexible working, unpaid leave etc)
• Management of the Employee Assistance Programme.
• Management of ER related training programmes such as Disciplinary and Grievance, Managing Within the Law and Maternity Coaching.
• Coordinating ER input on project teams.
• Acting as key HR contact for other control functions, such as Legal and Compliance.
• Managing a team of two to deliver the above across Asia HR.

Desired Skills and Experience
Person Requirements:

• Significant HR experience at a senior level
• Strong knowledge of employment law
• Good influencing skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to approach scenarios from multiple perspectives (Firm, Business, Employee, Law etc)

Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Barclays Operational Risk Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Standards
