Job Description:
The ePMO team is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of projects, programs and portfolios in line with policy and standards. It will do this by building the project and portfolio management capabilities at the group and portfolio levels (Business/function/region) with the objective of increasing the predictability of project delivery, increasing visibility on status and maximising the benefits from our portfolio. Key responsibilities for the ePMO include building frameworks for reporting, governance, health checks, PM support/enablement, demand management and benefits management and ensuring their consistent application across the portfolios (Business/function/region).
Key Roles and Responsibilities

The Director, ePMO (as a senior member of the ePMO team) will be responsible for delivery of the teams remit and continuously improving the ePMO function and framework across the portfolios.

Project Governance (working with PMO teams at the Business/function/region level)
Develop and operationalize Project Management Standards, Governance and Health Check frameworks including policies and processes.
Continuously review and evolve the Project Management Standards. Ensure effective communication of standards and processes.
Perform regular training for Accountable Executives and Project Managers.
Maintain the governance framework in which projects operate. Projects include major change programmes across regulatory, process improvement, obsolescence, digitalization, core platforms and enhancement themes. It is a role focused on Business and Function deliverables, not an IT focused role.
As a senior member of the ePMO, attend Project Review Committees at the business and function level, approve the commencement of projects (as required) in line with the governance framework and monitor them over their lifecycle.
Face off to Operational Risk and Internal Audit. Support the face off with Regulators as required.

Portfolio Management (working with PMO teams at the Business/function/region level)
Support the Group Project Review Committee (GPRC) in its governance of portfolios of projects over their lifecycle. Each Business and Function has a portfolio of projects.
Guide PMO teams at the portfolio level (Business/function/region). Drive and maintain standardisation
Track and communicate progress on all programme and project activity in conjunction with Project Managers across the investment portfolios.
Perform systematic portfolio reviews and project health checks to ensure time, scope, resources and cost are tracked and reported accurately and consistently across the investment portfolio.
Provide an overview of identified potential risk factors and ensure proper mitigation actions are planned and executed by the appropriate person portfolios to improve the predictability of project delivery and avoid common project related issues.
Establish a policy control monitoring framework across select portfolios to ensure compliance with project standards at approval stage and at key stages of the project lifecycle.
Identify cross project issues and capture learning and best practices for future efforts.
Ensure quality of reporting consolidated and delivered to the Senior Management.
Establish a demand management framework. Assist select Business lines and Functions in project demand management including pipeline views.
Maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders in Business and Functions.

Project Infrastructure
Continuously review the scope and operating model of the ePMO to maximize value to the Bank.
Drive the enhancement of project infrastructure including Workwise and PMO tools
Drive the digitisation of project artefacts such as Project Approval Documents and Red packs
Design an implement standard templates in support of the project governance framework
Implement best practice tools

Continuously seek opportunities for improvement within role, processes, team , PMO teams at portfolio level
Keep up to date of industry project management standards and methodologies.
Influence stakeholders to ensure successful management of programmes and projects
Educate stakeholders to improve project and portfolio effectiveness

Required Experience

Minimum 10 years of experience in large banks with a good understanding of the various business lines and support functions
Excellent communications and presentation skills with ability to adjust communication styles depending on type of target audience. Ability to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders - COOs, senior business staff, project managers and technology
at least 5 years experience primarily in a Portfolio Management & Governance type of role
At least 5 years experience primarily in Governance roles, with good exposure to financial disciplines and technology delivery methodologies. PMP certification would be considered favourably
Experience in project roles - Project manager, business analyst in the delivery of major change programmes, covering business deliverables rather than technology alone
Exceptional teaming skills and ability to excel in matrix work environment where requirements can be often ambiguous.
