As our new Director, Negotiation Excellence within Group Procurement, you are part of the highly specialized Negotiation & Contracting Excellence team, with the responsibility to ensure the further development and utilization of advanced negotiation and contracting techniques. You will play a leading role in designing negotiation rules and awarding designs for major contracts
Your responsibilities
As our new Director, Negotiation Excellence, you play a key role in defining and implementing the operational model for the Negotiation and contracting Excellence department.

Furthermore, you are responsible for:

Define and regularly review negotiation strategy, methodology and processes tailored to Philips commodity groups, supplier base, regions, etc.
Consult Commodity Managers during high impact negotiations, ensuring the utilization of optimal negotiation designs based on game theory (including bargaining and auction theory).
Develop innovative negotiation strategies (advanced negotiation strategies), methodologies and approaches with their appropriate support tools.
Identify areas of improvements, capture and implement lessons learned.
Create and maintain a negotiation pipeline in selected business areas (transparency, priorities, interdependencies, and sequence tactics).
Co-facilitating the setup of the “Negotiation Factory” along with peers
Train Philips procurement managers in deploying negotiation excellence practices.
Support important negotiations hands-on and in person.

You’ll be a member of a company that is continuing to achieve success through market-driven innovations in Health Systems and Personal Health areas. As part of the company wide Procurement Transformation program, the Negotiation & Contracting Excellence team helps Philips getting the max out of all big impact supplier negotiations and drives the standardization and implementation of best in class contracting processes and tools. You will work alongside the commodity managers, setting up optimal negotiation rules and designs, tailored to the commodity specifics and sourcing environment. In this role the Director Contracting & Negotiation Excellence will report to Philips Head of negotiation & contracting excellence.


We are looking for
The ideal candidate for this position not only has the experience of contracting a supplier but more importantly has a broad experience in setting up best in class company-wide contracting processes and tools in multinational companies.
A university degree in Economics or Business Administration with game/ auction / bargaining theory background with at least 10 years relevant experience (required)
Negotiation thought leader with proven experience in establishing and driving world class company-wide negotiation processes/ initiatives, ideally in procurement (required)
In deep knowledge of Game Theory (Bargaining and e-auction) negotiation methods.
Background in Procurement (required)
Strong analytical skills.
Has a general understanding of Business products and markets.
Managerial skills to lead business partners in a global virtual network.
Good business sense to get the maximum results out of negotiations and design contracts with a business/entrepreneurial mindset.
Experience in negotiating multi-million euro contracts, in multinational company environments.
Able to communicate effectively with large suppliers at management level. Strong English language skills and Microsoft Office capabilities
Willing to travel (30%-50%)
